South Carolina is located in the Southern region of the USA with Columbia as its capital.  Henry McMaster (R) is Governor.

The South Carolina legislature has 46 Senate members and 124 House members.

The US onAir Network will be working with volunteers from South Carolina universities, colleges, and nonprofit organizations to oversee the curation and moderation of posts, aircasts (online discussions), and in person events for the South Carolina onAir Hub …  related to federal, state, and local elections and government.

Our first outreach will be to University of South Carolina partly because of its proximity to the state capital. We have identified many of University of South Carolina’s civic engagement, academic, internship and research programs related to making democracy and civic responsibility a focus of higher learning on their campus … for students, faculty, staff, and local community. This post, over time, will have similar information on other collaborating organizations in the state.

South Carolina is a state in the Southeastern region of the United States. It is bordered to the north by North Carolina, to the southeast by the Atlantic Ocean, and to the southwest by Georgia across the Savannah River. South Carolina is the 40th most extensive and 23rd most populous U.S. state with a recorded population of 5,124,712[ according to the 2020 census. In 2019, its GDP was $213.45 billion. South Carolina is composed of 46 counties. The capital is Columbia with a population of 133,273 in 2019; while its largest city is Charleston with a 2019 population of 135,257.[9] The Greenville–Anderson–Mauldin metropolitan area is the largest in the state, with a 2018 population estimate of 906,626.
